Hey y’all, it’s Nim here! It’s been a long time, and I’m super sorry for not posting, but we do have a lot of Teen events here, and we hope that you can come! Let’s get started:

FEBRUARY:

• High School Anime: Saturday, February 6th from 1-4 PM
• Teen Writing Group: Wednesday, February 10th from 4:30-5:30 PM
• Random Fandom- The Flash & Arrow: Thursday, February 11th from 4-5:30 PM
• TAG: Wednesday, February 24th from 4:30-5:30 PM

MARCH:

• High School Anime: Saturday, March 5th from 1-4 PM
• Teen Writing Group: Wednesday, March 9th from 4:30-5:30 PM
• Random Fandom- Bollywood: Thursday, March 10th from 4-5:30 PM
• TAG: Wednesday, March 30th from 4:30-5:30 PM

That’s all we have these two months. Be sure to come for our Random Fandoms! We got big ones this time, Flash & Arrow and Bollywood!!

He-yo, Nim’s back! Sorry for the hiatus, high school is a murderer. ;P I have a few events to point out to y’all, so let’s get started!

OCTOBER 31ST: SCARY STORY CONTEST DEADLINE

NOVEMBER
Teen Writing Group: November 11th
Doctor Who Random Fandom: November 12th

DECEMBER:
Teen Writing Group: December 9th
Star Wars Random Fandom: December 10th

In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, we have two major teen programs here at the FMPL: Writing Group and Random Fandom. In Writing Group, we write. Pretty self-explanatory huh? 😉 You get to share your work and develop into a better writer!! In Random Fandom, we host an event dedicated to a fandom. We have games, snacks, and fun stuff all around! These next two RFs are Doctor Who and Star Wars.

And I know there are a lot of you fans lurking around here in Flower Mound, so y’all should totally come to the RFs. They’re a lot of fun. Even if you are not too familiar with the fandoms (like me).

Aaaaaaaand: we will have our annual NaNoWriMo journal posted this year, but instead of me taking the reins, it’ll be our newest TAG member (and writer), Anne Marie! Be sure to join her for that series.

We also have a WHOLE BUNCH of people about to post stuff soon, so y’all better stay tuned to new material on this site!

Random Fandom: Pitch Perfect

Hey “pitches”, it’s Nim here (using terrible puns oops)! If you were not there for our Random Fandom today, you missed out on a good one. First things first, do you see that awesome picture above? That was our recreation of the original Pitch Perfect poster! Can you tell which character I am? If you can’t tell, I’m the one with that huge white cardigan on, or the tiniest person in the picture (yay). Anyways, all we do at Random Fandom is geek out over the fandom and eat food. Like today, we watched the whole movie, sang along with Anna Kendrick, and we reenacted the cast photo! RF is a super cool event that you guys should totally come to. And say hi if you drop by, I love to talk!

Random Fandom: Divergent

Over the course of spring break, I went to many places to while my time away. However, out of all of those my favorite was the Divergent Random Fandom held at our very own Flower Mound Public Library. If you want to get a feel of books coming to life, this is the place to come. Everyone was able to dress up in their faction gear. My own outfit was inspired by Dauntless, all black like my soul. The interactive movie was a lot of fun. We got to enact scenes from the movie and snack on buttery popcorn. My favorite part was throwing knives at a paper target taped to the wall, to reenact the training phase the initiates of Dauntless went through. Overall, the whole experience was enjoyable and fun.

So for quick clarification, Random Fandom is where we TAGgers choose a fandom by random (ha) and we host an event with all types of games and food for that beloved fandom. Teen Writing Group is a monthly meeting where writers come together to hone their writing skillz. International Tabletop Day is where we play games! (Super fun) TAG is where you, teens, get to help influence and develop your society (naaahhh, more like your library ;D)!!!

It’s that time again. Our next Random Fandom is here again!!! This time, the theme is…..

And we’re back with another Random Fandom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the theme for October’s RF is (drumroll please)…..

Random Fandom: Sherlock

It’s time for our 2nd Random Fandom! This time, we’re celebrating Sherlock with not only “Sherlock”, but with “Elementary” and the RDJ “Sherlock Holmes” movies toooo! (See here if you need to brush up on what RF is!)

Come join us this Thursday at 4:00 until 5:00 for all the Sherlock goodness you can get!!!!
