Nim’s Journal: Camp NaNoWriMo Week 4

I’VE CROSSED THE 10,000 WORD LINE (AKA my goal)!!!!!!!!!!!

There are no words to explain how excited and relieved I am! Even though my novel’s faaar from finished (seriously, far x10000000), it feels good to meet your goal at the end of the month.

self satisfied

But I do have a favor to ask you guys. I need your help on fancasting. Here are my characters’ physical attributes:

  • Adelaide Mills: Brunette w/ brown eyes
  • Adam Maxwell: Blond w/ blue eyes
  • Joanna Wakesford: Redhead with hazel eyes

Is it obvious on whom I used in my head for Ad and Adam?

Anyways, I really need your help. I did have a few ideas for Adelaide (mainly Hayley Atwell or Amy Acker) but I seriously can’t cast anyone for the life of me. So can you guys help me? Pleaaase?

Nim’s Journal: Camp NaNoWriMo Week 3

IT’S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!! Sorry, hi! It’s Nim here! Sorry for the super late post (Nim, try 1 day), STAAR is an absolute killer.

my poor bby<———- Did you mean all the 8th graders in my school? (Yeah, we stumble around as if we got tortured in Afghanistan. Call me dramatic, but nobody likes the STAAR. Nobody.[Pardon my terrible sense of humor])

I’m officially 75% of the way through Camp, and I’ve verified my writing too! My story just got into the nitty-gritty details. If you are wondering where I am in the story, my characters are about to fly to Cabo San Lucas to get away from assassins. Yup, super hardcore writer over here (woot woot)!

So, how’s your story going? Aren’t you excited to be reaching the finish line? I know I am. 😉

bby laugh

Nim’s Journal: Camp NaNo Week 2

Hi guys, it’s Nim again! Just a quick check-in with you guys! How’s your writing going?

Somehow, I’ve been able to keep up with the word count in the midst of a State Math Competition (wow such a nerd), multiple tests and papers (ugh), and a fandom war (ew). We’re halfway through (!!!!!!!!!!!!!), but the problem for me is that I’m barely on chapter 4… oops?

Anyways, my main point is: How is the writing? Have the juices stopped? Here’s some quick advice: Procrastinate and find mood music or create a board on Pinterest. That’s what I do when I get bored of writing. Feel free to drop by the comment box and leave a quick note for us! Once again, I’m nimishaas on Camp, so come say “Hi” to me!!

Nim’s Journal: Camp NaNo Week 1

Hey guys, it’s Nim here! Don’t worry, I’m not doing a cheesy blog entry today. This week’s check in will be short and sweet.

So today marks the official end of week 1, and according to my word limit (10,000 words thank goodness), I have 7,433 words left to reach that goal. That’s right, I have written 2,567 words in 6 days!

*cricket noises* Okay, so I skipped writing on Saturday, but hey, girl needs her break too. I know 333 words a day isn’t that much, but still, this girl would love a break. Especially with a ton of school and stuff breathing down my neck.

Anyways, I’ve written a birthday of the secondary character, a trip to the mall, 2 perverted dudes, 1 Chipotle meltdown, a beach party, flirtation, and a “nice guy”. I feel pretty accomplished, especially because it’s not going how NaNo did (which, by the way, went TERRIBLY). So how are your novels going? Have you reached the breaking point? Or are you just getting started? Drop by the comments, I’d love to hear how your Camp experience is going!

Nim’s Journal: Camp NaNoWriMo- April

Hey guys! It’s Nim here, and this blog is starting a new series of events. Give it up for… *drumroll* NIM’S JOURNAL OF CAMP NANOWRIMO!!!

Basically, I’m doing what Shelby did back in November, but I will be updating and will NOT be abandoning it. 😉

So here’s the basics:

  1. I will be updating every Tuesday. There will be one special post celebrating the end on May 1st, 2015. oh sallen

That’s it. That’s all the guidelines of my journal. Hehe. But anyways, let’s get on with the prologue:

Dear Journal,

Today’s the day before Camp NaNoWriMo. I’m super prepared, my novel is ready, my notepad is ready, I’m in a cabin, all I gotta do is actually write 300 words a day. That should be easy… right? I’m excited to write my novel, it’s called Miles Out of Town and here’s the synopsis:

I’ve always been told that when you fall in love, it’s almost like the movies. Your heart skips, your mouth runs dry, and you think “They’re the one for me.” My mother would always sigh and croon, “Lay, when you fall in love, make sure you document every single second you’re around them. You’ll never know what may happen in the future.” I would reply, “Mama, how do I know I’m in love?” Her response, was that I would know in that moment. It just so happened that my moment came during my best friend’s pool party. But no one ever told me that I’d fall in love with a runaway agent of an empire so large, it controlled every single second of our lives.

… It kinda sounds bad, but I think I’ve got it under control. I have my Pinterest board (super teen-y I know) and music ready, now all i gotta do is get my head in the game.

Signing off,

Did that sound journal-y enough? Alright, I’m done being a sap. Once again, I’m nimishaas on Camp, and if you’re joining along in the journey, come say “Hi” to me! I like talking (if you couldn’t tell) to fellow scribes! Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor. 😉
