Readers, Assemble!

Teen SRC

Do you like to read and win free stuff? If no, thanks for reading this blog, but you might be in the wrong place! If yes, Summer Reading Club starts on June 4! All of the reading  you do this summer will get you chances to win your choice of very awesome prizes (and if you’re going to be reading anyways, you might as well try to get stuff out of it, RIGHT?)

“What can I win?” you ask? Our prize packs this year are themed to go along with our slogan “Readers, Assemble!” (with artwork from our amazing Teen Advisory Group member Jessica). You get a choice of Marvel, DC, Gaming, or Book prizes. Each prize pack contains three or more items. Here’s a teaser of what these prize packs contain:

Here’s how it works:

  1. Go to the library website on June 4 and register an account. It will ask you for your age and birthday, and then it will ask you to make a username and password. It will also ask you for your parent’s email. If you’re 13 or older, you can use your own email address.
  2. You’ll get an email confirming your account. Click on “Activate my child’s account.”
  3. Once your account is activated, you can edit your profile.
  4. Start entering the books you read, and how much time you’ve spent reading.

You can earn one raffle ticket per two hours up to 20 hours of reading, and then it gets harder. You’ll also have the opportunity to complete challenges, like writing reviews or reading 5 books in one genre in order to earn even more raffle tickets.

But wait! There’s more! Everyone who reaches 500 minutes will receive a free book, and everyone who reaches 1000 minutes will receive an invitation to our end of summer party!
